Doreen Howe visited Cobh and spoke to Dr Martin recently about her childhood experiences.

Doreen’s  father, George Howe, worked at the White Star line office in Cobh from 1924 to  1934. During this time he would bring out his little girl on the tenders to visiting White Star Line ships. Doreen recalled ‘when I went onto the ships with my Dad I would be given lots and lots of presents that were on sale in the ships shops’.
